The Global Restoration Information Hub (GRIH) is now hosting the call for applications for the Restoration Returns Grant, an initiative by the G20 Global Land Initiative (GLI).
This grant is designed to provide direct financial and technical support to small-scale, community-led projects that are actively working to restore degraded terrestrial ecosystems.
What is the Restoration Returns Grant?
The Global Restoration Information Hub Grant aims to empower local communities by providing the resources needed to implement effective restoration projects. The program will select up to 20 outstanding projects, each of which will receive funding to advance their efforts in restoring degraded lands and providing social and economic benefits to their communities.

Who is Eligible to Apply?
The call is open to a wide range of groups that are directly involved in grassroots restoration efforts. Eligible applicants include:
- Community-based organizations (CBOs)
- Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
- Youth groups
- Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs)
- Academic and research institutions
Grant Benefits
Selected projects will receive significant support to help them achieve their goals:
- A grant of €5,000 to implement the proposed restoration project.
- Technical support provided by the G20 Global Land Initiative to ensure project success.
